About the Green Directory

The SKRC hosts and administers an online directory of locally available, sustainable products and services to help community members identify local businesses and organizations that actively support sustainability. The Green Directory is a companion resource to the online Keweenaw Green MapĀ®.

If you are based in the Keweenaw Peninsula and offer green products and/or services to the community and would like to be listed in the Green Directory (or know of a resource that should be listed), please contact us. The Green Directory is a free community service offered by the SKRC, there is no charge for listing. The SKRC reserves the right to refuse or remove a listee from the Green Directory. *

Using the Directory

The Green Directory menu, located on the right side of the screen, displays links to each category of listings in the Directory. The example below highlights the Energy category. Only categories that have available products and services are displayed, new categories are added as necessary.

Clicking on a category link from the menu will display links to listings in that category. The example below highlights the Northern Options listing in the Energy category. Some listings may appear in more than one category (up to 5 maximum).

Clicking on the Northern Options link displays an electronic business card for Northern Options. A listing typically includes the business name, contact information, description of green product or service, and a logo or image representing the company or individual.

You can search the Directory using the search tool located above the Directory menu. Type a keyword in the text field (highlighted below) to display all listings including that word in their name and/or description.

* Although the SKRC uses reasonable efforts to maintain the accuracy of the website content, it is not represented to be error free.
